About us

Headway Worcestershire is a charitable organisation established in 1989 supporting individuals with brain injury to improve quality of life and support their carers and families through their journey.  An acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is an injury caused to the brain after birth. There are many possible causes, including a fall, a road accident, infection, tumour and stroke. Brain injury doesn't just affect individuals; it can transform the lives of entire families

We are introducing day resource services for people with mental health needs focusing on health and emotional wellbeing to help cope with challenges faced in everyday life. Headway try to make a difference to have a real impact in supporting an individual to achieve goals.  Mental health problems range from the worries we all experience as part of everyday life to serious long-term conditions

Brain injury and mental health are ongoing health and social care issues impacting on many people’s lives. At Headway we support with life changes that you and your loved ones are experiencing and offer guidance, advice and support through a range of activities.

The values and beliefs of our organisation are to provide high quality services to ensure everyone is treated equally with dignity and respect.

Our services

Our resource service (day opportunities) offers tailored plans to encourage and enable people living with a brain injury mental health to lead a full and active life in the community.

We provide a range of rehabilitation, advice and support to meet continuing and changing needs, and engage people to access community based facilities. This restores confidence and gives control back to individuals and their families.

Outreach is a one-to-one service tailor-made to meet the needs of the individual client. We offer personal care and support with daily living, to empower adults to live independently in the community.

As part of our wide and flexible range of services, we also provide carers support, self-help groups, psycholocical support, alternative therapy, signposting, Your Life Your Choice usage support  and volunteering opportunities.

Our employees

We have a structured recruitment process that is inclusive of client interviews.  We ensure new employees have a range of skills and are passionate to understand various needs to empower and enhance rehabilitation.

All employees are DBS checked, fully trained and are supported with continuous learning through formal training opportunities, regular supervision, team meetings and professional development.
